Red wine mee sua noodles easy recipe 红酒面线简单食谱

We bought this bottle of fermented red wine and noodles from sitiawan not that long ago. Read my previous post about where to get these ingredients. This red wine is not the western red wine-a lot of my friends used to think that! This hock chew dish is well loved and very unique.

This red wine is interesting as the ones we used before this are usually deeper in color.

Ingredients (for 2)
1tbsp sesame oil
2 chicken Maryland chopped into chunks
Red wine/sos tapai half a bottle
2 large pieces of ginger-skin peeled then finely chopped or pressed with chopper
Mee Sua
2 hard boiled eggs

Heat wok
Stir fry chicken with sesame oil
Add in ginger and fry until fragrant
Add in 2tbsp of red wine

Add 4 Chinese bowls of water
Add in the rest of the red wine
Bring soup to boil then simmer for about 15min

Add in as much mee sua as you like
Cook until the noodles go soft
Eat with hard boiled eggs

Tada! Simple yet delicious.

Morning Market Bukit Setongkol kuantan

This morning market sells a combination of wet and dry market goods every morning starting at 6am until around 10.30am. Conveniently located within Kampung Jawa area, it's visited by the young and old, all different races. It's affectionately named as "the big drain" by the locals as the market is located just next to a huge drain. Location wise, Waze to Petronas Jalan Darat Makbar, then drive next to the big drain.

Look at the fresh organic vegetables on sale! Heaps of healthy fibres.

Colorful fruits that are rich in vitamins and minerals. So inviting and appetizing!

Seafood such as fish, squid and crabs for customers to choose. What a feast!

Roast duck ready for consumption. My aunty used to get us a few of these during CNY.

Lime juice concentrate apparently famous in kuantan.

Actually I have no idea what this uncle is selling but he sounded very convincing.

Our must buy and favourite apam balik. Husband loves the cripsy version but I prefer the soft and juicy ones.

So many kuih-muih. We are spoilt for choices- pumpkin cake, yam cake, carrot and sengkuang dumplings, 9 layer cake, mochi etc. Enough to satisfy our cravings.

There's also roti canai for those who loves a good mamak breakfast. What a pity because I couldn't get a photo when she's flipping the dough into a thin sheet.

Last but not least, my favorite tau fu fa. It comes with either sugar plus ginger or gula melaka. So smooth and yummy that baby Bing kept asking for more.

One can definitely experience the best Malaysian food and cultural scene in this wet market. It has everything that needs to please everyone.

Luxurious Sunday brunch at Shook! Starhill Gallery

This is our second year being a YTL member hence complimentary Shook! Sunday brunch. It's the best buffet we have ever had thus far.

There's a wide selection of food. So much so that we are really spoilt for choices. The taste is amazing and the arrangement is also delightful to the eyes. Great ambience to dine in. Baby friendly as well.

Japanese

Fresh tuna, salmon and octopus sashimi that just dissolved in the mouth.

A wide range of sushi available.

They also have 3 types of smoked salmon- chilli sambal (surprisingly matching), pesto and mustard. There's also teppanyaki freshly cooked upon request.

BBQ

Look at that roast whole lamb! We could smell the awesome smokiness outside the dining area.

Other meat for on the spot BBQ include chicken wings, chicken satay and marinated beef slices.

There were also cheesy roast potato and whole roasted potatoes.

Salad bar

Most buffets have limited choice for vegetarians but not at Shook! There were a variety of ready made salads looking so mouthwatering and inviting.

Or one could also choose to assemble own salad.

Look at the fresh lettuce in its glory. So colorful and cripsy.

Seafood
Shook! served blanched seafood on ice with dipping sauce. I suppose that really preserve the original flavor and freshness.

Crayfish. Look at how generous the portion is.

Tiger prawns. So juicy.

Green mussels

Clams

Crabs. Disappointingly, not fresh. And no crab cracker was provided for the huge claw.

There were also fresh oysters but before I got a chance to snap a good photo, the bowl was empty already!

Italian/western

A yummy selection of pasta and all the classic sauces.

The bread and cheese platters were equally sumptuous.

Who can resist the temptation of scrapping cheese from this huge cheese block?

Cold slices of deli meat on display. Makes one cannot stop eating

The highlight was really the dessert section. Enough to make a woman ditch her diet plans and a man love dessert.

A mountain of rainbow coloured macaroons with different flavors eg green matcha, white condensed milk, pink strawberry etc.

Shiny and gooey chocolate mousse that made me lick the spoon clean.
Raspberry mousse

Chocolate tarts

Muffins and cupcakes

Cream puffs

Dark chocolate fountain that went so well with the marshmallows and fruit kebab. Sinful yet totally worth it!

Chocolate lollipop which baby Bing loved. Beware of the soury inside though-tasted like a preserved berry of some sort.

There's also an Asian section serving porridge, nasi lemak, noodle soup, dimsum, pao and chicken rice. Tasted ok but nothing too amazing.

But all these come with the price tag of more than RM180 per pax exlcuding alcohol. Given the quality, we rate it 8/10!

IFactory Rose tone-up cream review featuring Pandora Box Malaysia

Tired of dark and uneven skin tone? Not feeling like applying concealer and foundation? Try IFactory tone-up cream. Coming from world class Korean beauty and aesthetics industry, it's one of its kind.

This tone-up cream is free from artificial fragrance and coloring. It contains 70% rose water. Rose water is also called the magic potion for skin because it's suitable for all skin types. It also has anti oxidant and anti bacterial properties. Read more about rose water here.

Besides that, this cream also whitens, moisturises and reduces wrinkle appearance. Enjoy the goodness of glutathione, arbutin and niacinamide all on your face!

Look at my face before  using the cream. I have a tanned skin. It has started to show some signs of photoaging. This means that years of sun exposure has done some damage in terms of wrinkles and uneven pigmentation.

The difference after I used the cream for two weeks. It gives instant whitening and toning effect :) In spite of its creamy consistency, ifactory tone up cream is so light when applied. My face also remains oil and shine free at the end of the day. The smell of rose is rejuvenating yet not overpowering. Kindly ignore the acne-a problem of hormonal imbalance.

If you like what you see, you can get it at Pandora Malaysia.
