Luxurious Sunday brunch at Shook! Starhill Gallery

This is our second year being a YTL member hence complimentary Shook! Sunday brunch. It's the best buffet we have ever had thus far.

There's a wide selection of food. So much so that we are really spoilt for choices. The taste is amazing and the arrangement is also delightful to the eyes. Great ambience to dine in. Baby friendly as well.

Japanese

Fresh tuna, salmon and octopus sashimi that just dissolved in the mouth.

A wide range of sushi available.

They also have 3 types of smoked salmon- chilli sambal (surprisingly matching), pesto and mustard. There's also teppanyaki freshly cooked upon request.

BBQ

Look at that roast whole lamb! We could smell the awesome smokiness outside the dining area.

Other meat for on the spot BBQ include chicken wings, chicken satay and marinated beef slices.

There were also cheesy roast potato and whole roasted potatoes.

Salad bar

Most buffets have limited choice for vegetarians but not at Shook! There were a variety of ready made salads looking so mouthwatering and inviting.

Or one could also choose to assemble own salad.

Look at the fresh lettuce in its glory. So colorful and cripsy.

Seafood
Shook! served blanched seafood on ice with dipping sauce. I suppose that really preserve the original flavor and freshness.

Crayfish. Look at how generous the portion is.

Tiger prawns. So juicy.

Green mussels

Clams

Crabs. Disappointingly, not fresh. And no crab cracker was provided for the huge claw.

There were also fresh oysters but before I got a chance to snap a good photo, the bowl was empty already!

Italian/western

A yummy selection of pasta and all the classic sauces.

The bread and cheese platters were equally sumptuous.

Who can resist the temptation of scrapping cheese from this huge cheese block?

Cold slices of deli meat on display. Makes one cannot stop eating

The highlight was really the dessert section. Enough to make a woman ditch her diet plans and a man love dessert.

A mountain of rainbow coloured macaroons with different flavors eg green matcha, white condensed milk, pink strawberry etc.

Shiny and gooey chocolate mousse that made me lick the spoon clean.
Raspberry mousse

Chocolate tarts

Muffins and cupcakes

Cream puffs

Dark chocolate fountain that went so well with the marshmallows and fruit kebab. Sinful yet totally worth it!

Chocolate lollipop which baby Bing loved. Beware of the soury inside though-tasted like a preserved berry of some sort.

There's also an Asian section serving porridge, nasi lemak, noodle soup, dimsum, pao and chicken rice. Tasted ok but nothing too amazing.

But all these come with the price tag of more than RM180 per pax exlcuding alcohol. Given the quality, we rate it 8/10!

IFactory Rose tone-up cream review featuring Pandora Box Malaysia

Tired of dark and uneven skin tone? Not feeling like applying concealer and foundation? Try IFactory tone-up cream. Coming from world class Korean beauty and aesthetics industry, it's one of its kind.

This tone-up cream is free from artificial fragrance and coloring. It contains 70% rose water. Rose water is also called the magic potion for skin because it's suitable for all skin types. It also has anti oxidant and anti bacterial properties. Read more about rose water here.

Besides that, this cream also whitens, moisturises and reduces wrinkle appearance. Enjoy the goodness of glutathione, arbutin and niacinamide all on your face!

Look at my face before  using the cream. I have a tanned skin. It has started to show some signs of photoaging. This means that years of sun exposure has done some damage in terms of wrinkles and uneven pigmentation.

The difference after I used the cream for two weeks. It gives instant whitening and toning effect :) In spite of its creamy consistency, ifactory tone up cream is so light when applied. My face also remains oil and shine free at the end of the day. The smell of rose is rejuvenating yet not overpowering. Kindly ignore the acne-a problem of hormonal imbalance.

If you like what you see, you can get it at Pandora Malaysia.

How to make your house sparkling clean featuring Kleenso

Housework is everyone's least favorite things to do. So good household products are desirable because effective cleaning will save time and effort. The first product I came across was Kleenso's 9in1 floor cleaner in my aunt's house because her tiled floor was so squeaky clean! We were amazed by how good that made our feet felt.

I then discovered then Kleenso has a wide range of products. For environmentalist, Kleenso is great as it cleans effectively using natural ingredients. For parents, there's less worry about residual chemicals potentially harmful to your children. For economists, Kleenso products are cost effective and affordable. For patriots, it's made in Malaysia!

These are the products I have tried.

Kleenso Serai Wangi liquid wax floor cleaner

For those who love the smell of lemongrass, this is a must buy! Not only does the fragrance linger for a few days, the floor cleaner is also a mosquito repellent, as well as a scare for roaches, flies and ants. Be gone these unwelcomed intruders! This effect lasts for the whole week. It also squeaks when one walks on the floor.

Kleenso tile and bathroom cleaner

Don't worry if your bathroom is mouldy. No more brushing until your hands blister. With this cleaner, the dirts and mould come off so easily. And it also smells amazing.

Eco cockroach baits

If you live in a terrace house and have a squatting toilet, you are bound to have roaches encroaching your home no matter how clean the place is. It's especially a problem when we have been away for some time. The cockroach is attracted to the gel. After consumption, it will die and the corpse will be eaten by its counterparts (yucks). And the cycle continues. The gel is also made of natural ingredients, nothing toxic to human. So no worries about baby Bing accidentally come into contact with  the gel.

Eco ant baits
We woke up realising ants already infested or cupboard overnight but leaving the bait there killed all the ants within the next day!

Similarly, we often feel annoyed about ant infested foodstuff. Place this bait and we have noticed substantially reduced number of ants within a day. It's also made of natural ingredients.

Biodegradable rubbish bags

There's renewed awareness about the hazard of plastics. These biodegradable bags are just the right way to reduce pollution. And it's just the right size to fit our rubbish bin!

And the price is on par with other commercial cleaners. Personally, we really enjoy using Kleenso products. You can contact Miss Amanda Lem @0122193881 for purchase. Kleenso products can also be found in certain super markets.

Sunway putra mall food trail

Look at the wonderful

Chanced upon this Italian restaurant when searching for discounts on offpeak. A whooping 40% discount at dinner time with good Facebook user reviews. Decided to celebrate the moment with their seafood platter. It's so amazing! No need for more description.

Fried calamari rings with tartare sauce. Pan fried salmon with cream and butter sauce with blanched vegetables. Fried mozzarella cheese rice balls in bolognaise sauce. Stir fry spaghetti  in ariabatta sauce with the wonderfully caramelized sliced garlic. Green mussels cooked in tomato sauce. Just try it.

Wash all the cheesy and creamy goodness down with a glass of lychee mango mocktail.

Level 3

Myeongdong Topokki

I always complain to Ryan that there's a lack of good Korean food in kuantan. So we are always attracted to Korean places. This outlet practises self serve service.

The Korean rice cakes so chewy and fresh, combined with their signature spicy sauce, not forgetting the fish cakes that go so well together (taste similar to chee cheong fun).

The fried seaweed vermicelli rolls were crunchy outside and soft instead, bursting with flavors.

Their dumpling soup set was equally awesome. The egg drop soup was so sweet and matched the dumplings so well (but dumplings were slightly overcooked). Even baby Bing couldn't reject the temptation of the rice and dumplings.

Add on a bag of refreshing Korean soda at RM5.50. A combination of sweet carbonated drink with a zesty lemon slice and a rejuvenating mint leaf. Hot and cold green tea also came with the set.

If you go onto level 4, you will see the whole stretch of eateries with this Korean outlet conveniently in front of you.

Level 4 Selera Street

I:Don

One of my lunch adventures with baby Bing sans husband. Udon well cooked in sweet soy sauce based soup with a slice of Japanese bean curd skin. Juicy fried chicken dipped in sweet soy sauce with a hint of wasabi.

Came back for dinner with hubby. Cheesy chicken chop with rice. And look at the half poached egg! Who doesn't love melted cheese? But will be better if the chicken chop is cripsy.

Beef stir fried in onions with rice. Another yummy half poached egg. A bit disappointed though because there's no vegetables in any of these dishes and the portion was on the small side.

Level 3

DC comics superhero cafe

OMG, we could see our favorite childhood heroes and dine with them! Had a cuppa there. Adore the Batman and Superman decorations. Excited just like a child. One can get all your cravings for superheroes satisfied with various merchandise as well. Didn't try the food though because I was told it's nothing special.

Level 3

Sunway putra mall has so much more good food to offer. Shall visit again next time!
