Work smart and play hard! After work, self pampering is a must. After hitting the 30s, I have noticed skin aging after years of sun exposure, harsh weather, pollution and stress. Therefore, I have started to undergo regular facial treatment to help my skin stay supple and fresh-looking.

I was asked to fill up a questionaire stating my skincare issues, basic medical history and medications list. After initial consultation and assessment, an experienced aesthetician Alice correctly pointed out my skin concerns-- congested and oily skin, presence of acne with dull tired skin tone. Fine lines have also started to show up with loss of skin firmness as well.
The treatment area has ambient lighting and tranquil background music. I was asked to change into a comfortable gown then lie down under a comfortable warm blanket. The therapist then introduced a calming lavender essential oil to ease me into relaxation-- there we go, Murad method facial treatment. She was very attentive and provided detailed explanation for the whole treatment process.
The facial treatment started with thorough double cleansing of my face, neck and shoulders. I particularly enjoyed the head, neck and shoulder massage which undid the knots and tensions in my muscles from a busy day at work. After steaming my face to open up the pores, chemical peeling was applied to gently yet effectively exfoliate to remove dead skin cells. I had some minor tingling which was expected.
After manual extraction, toner and serum was applied. This was followed by an advanced massage rituals and lymphatic drainage to ensure better absorption of the serum. After a cooling mask, I was treated to more serum, moisturiser and sunscreen to complete the treatment.
